Aynne Ames has been Artistic Director or Department Head of Performing Arts for Theater Companies or private schools for over 40 years, most recently a 10 year tenure with Belfast Maskers. She has served on The Maine Arts Council, The Maine Drama Council and the Kennedy Center College Festival adjudication panel representing the State of Maine. She was co founder of Cold Comfort Productions, Inc. in 1971 and put that on the shelf when she went back to college at UMO and then received a scholarship to work on her Masters in Ancient Theater in Athens, Greece. She has taught theater in Castine at Maine Maritime Academy and The Adams School, in Blue Hill at George Stevens Academy, In Kiffisia, Greece at the TASIS school, as a consultant at the TASIS school in England, and at the Storm King School, in Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York. She is the mother of two and grandmother of five.
